The Maids @ Writer’s Theatre

Nov 08 2008

Most people think you have to travel to, or be within the city to see great theater.  But just to the north in Glencoe, the Writer’s Theatre has been putting on unique productions for almost two decades.  Founded in 1992, the Writer’s Theatre looks to produce shows that merge great writing and acting together.  With 65 productions under their belt, Writer’s Theatre now presents “The Maids” based on a 1947 French thriller.  We always enjoy working with theaters that are unique, and are happy to be a part of this project.

Grey Gardens @ Northlight Theatre

Nov 08 2008

default_gardens_art1It’s pretty rare when a story from a documentary gets turned into a musical and a major motion picture.  But, because the story of Grey Gardens is so unique and fascinating, it makes perfect sense as to why it has become so popular. Edith “Big Edie” Ewing Bouvier Beale and her daughter Edith “Little Edie” Bouvier Beale were the aunt and first cousin of Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy Onassis, who lived together in almost complete isolation at Grey Gardens, a dilapidated mansion. Now, their story has been turned into an award winning musical that has been brought back by popular demand for an extended run to the Northlight Theatre. Be sure to see it before it’s gone for good.
