Spamalot @ the Auditorium Theatre

Jan 05 2009

215px-spamalotMonty Python and the Holy Grail continues to be one of the funniest films ever made.  When it was “lovingly ripped off”, and turned into a musical called Spamalot four years ago, it became one of the most popular shows, and won a Tony award for best musical.  Now, it is being brought back to Chicago for a short run at the Auditorium Theatre.  If you’re a fan of King Arthur, his band of loyal knights, and killer rabbits, this is a show you must absolutely see.

Monty Python’s Spamalot is at the Auditorium Theatre Jan. 20th through Feb. 1st.

Young Adults Programming @ Steppenwolf

Jan 05 2009

imagesThere is still a big misconception that theater is for older people.  Steppenwolf offers a way to cater to young adults by presenting stage productions with casts made up of middle and high school students. These performances are only available for young student audiences, and run Tuesdays through Fridays at 10am. Steppenwolf wrapped up 2008 with a great performance of The Glass Menagerie, and in 2009 they will present Steinbeck’s classic Of Mice and Men. Of course if you don’t happen to meet the criteria for being a student, public performances of the same show are offered to the general public on Saturdays at 11am.

Steppenwolf’s Young Adults Production of Of Mice and Men runs April 21st through May 10th.

Dirty Dancing @ Cadillac Palace

Back before the holidays, Cadillac Palace asked us to go out and promote for a special deal they were offering for their production of Dirty Dancing. Unfortunaletly, those days turned out to be Dec. 16th, 17th, and 18th, which was when we got several inches of snow, and the temperature dropped significantly.  Even though it was brutal outside, our teams were still able to promote in the downtown area, and theatre district (you may have seen us wearing pink).  We managed to get the materials out, and the promotion was a huge success.  Since guerrilla street marketing is what we do best, we were able to execute this with no problem, and even though you may have missed us in the street, Cadillac is still offering great deals for the rest of the run.

Dirty Dancing is at the Cadillac Palace until January 17th.
