Rough Crossing @ Piccolo Theatre

roughcrossing_505x250More and more, we are starting to notice that great theater is taking over the city of Evanston.  The Piccolo Theatre, which was founded in 1997, is dedicated to the art and mastery of comedy.  We are very excited to be working with yet another talented group, and are currently in the middle of launching a streetmarketing campaign in support of their upcoming production Rough Crossing, which was written by Tom Stoppard and is directed by Zachary Davis.  Be sure to see it this May!

Rough Crossing is at the Piccolo Theatre May 1st through May 30th.

Disappearing Acts @ the Piven Theatre

gogol-upcoming1One of our newest clients, the Piven Theatre is the brain child of Bryne and Joyce Piven.  Created 35 years ago, Piven Theatre  is both a nationally acclaimed training facility and critically acclaimed subscription theater.  We’re very honored to be working with the Piven Theatre  on their production of Disappearing Acts: Stories by Nikolai Gogol.  Our poster distribution began yesterday, and we are excited to be part of the team!

Disappearing Acts: Stories by Nikolai Gogol is at the Piven Theatre April 27th through may 31st.

IMAX South Barrington 30

imagesSeeing a movie on the IMAX screen is quite an experience.  If you’ve been to the theater at Chicago Navy Pier, you know how exhilarating it can be.  Now, AMC  is proud to announce the opening of a brand new IMAX screen at their South Barrington location in the northwest suburbs.  Beginning with the release of Monsters vs. Aliens, the new IMAX theater will be screening the latest blockbusters, including Star Trek in May.  To help gain exposure for the new theater, we will be launching an aggressive retail distribution and streetmarketing campaign targeting Barrington and the surrounding areas.  Be sure to keep an eye out for us.

IMAX AMC 30 in South Barrington is located at 175 Studio Drive.

The Overwhelming @ Next Theatre

owwtext250The Next Theatre is back again, this time with a gripping new drama.  The Overwhelming, which was a great success in London and New York, is the story of an American professor who uproots his family from Illinois to Rwanda at the start of the genocide.  This exciting and intriguing new drama directed by Kimberly Senior is a must see for theatre fans.  We are currently in the middle of doing another poster distribution for Next Theatre, so be sure to keep an eye out for our prominently displayed goods .

The Overwhelming is at the Next Theatre April 16th through May 17th.

Of Mice and Men @ Steppenwolf Theatre

John Steinbeck’s classic story set during the depression is brought to life on stage by the Steppenwolf for Young Adults series. This production is directed by Michael Patrick Thornton, who starred as John Merrick in Steppenwolf for Young Adults’ production of The Elephant Man. Thornton has also received a Joseph Jefferson Award for his performance in Gift Theatre Company’s production of The Good Thief. Student matinee performances for Of Mice and Men are Tuesday through Friday at 10am, so if you are a teacher, please take note.

Of Mice and Men is at the Steppenwolf in the Downstairs Theatre April 25th through May 10th.

My My My @ Bottom Lounge

m_c759164295814d3ab4620383e5f34b0eMy My My is back, and this time they’ll be returning to the Bottom Lounge where they rocked out back in January.  My My My’s momentum has been steadily building up over the past few months, as they’ve gotten great reviews for their newest album Little Cat Plays the Alpha Rave. This past weekend, you may have seen us at Big Head Todd and Morrissey passing out free full length CDs and flyers.  We’ll also be at Lilly Allen and the Dereks Trucks Band this month doing the same thing, so be sure to say “hi” to our staff, and pick up a free CD!

School House Rock @ Wilmette Theatre

events_schoolrock“Conjunction Junction”, “I’m Just A Bill”, and all the favorites will be performed at the Wilmette Theatre as they present School House Rock Live.  We are currently in the midst of a poster distribution campaign to help build awareness for the shows.  Originally airing on ABC in the early 1970′s, School House Rock has gained cult notoriety and is still popular among kids today.  Don’t miss the limited run; only 3 performances will occur this month.

School House Rock Live is at the Wilmette Theatre every Saturday this month beginning April 11th.

Guitar Hero: World Tour Tournament @ Navy Pier

game_on_logoThis spring, Navy Pier  presents Game On!, a series of events designed and geared towards all different levels of gamers. One of the main events will be the tournament of Guitar Hero: World Tour.  Two tournaments are held twice a day at Navy Pier’s Crystal Gardens. This Saturday, fireworks will be flying high, so if you think you’ve got the skills to mimic playing actual instruments, swing by Navy Pier sometime in the next two weeks!

Guitar Hero: Worlds Tour Tournament  is at Crystal Gardens at Navy Pier everyday through April 15th.

Hedwig and the Angry Inch @ the American Theater Company

banner_hedwigJohn Cameron Mitchell’s off beat rock musical comes to Chicago for a run at the American Theater Company.  “This is a Hedwig like none before” says ATC Artistic Director PJ Paparelli. We hit several shows over the weekend (including Morrissey @ the Aragon, and Lez Zepplin @ Double Door) in order to distribute flyers for this upcoming production.  It kicks off this Thursday, so if you’re a fan of the original stage version and/or movie, be sure to check it out.

Hedwig and the Angry Inch is at the American Theater Company April 9th-May 17th.

12th Annual Chicago Improv Festival

chicagoimprovfestChicago Improv Improv Production’s mission statement is pretty straight forward: “to celebrate the present, honor the past, and showcase the future of improvisational theatre.”  This year’s annual Chicago Improv Festival will feature a variety of improve groups and performers such as Rob Riggle from The Daily Show, MadTV cast members Keegen-Michael Key, Ike Barinholtz, and Jordan Peele, and Andy Dick will also make an appearance performing his one man show.

The 12th annual Chicago Improv Festival runs April 13th-19th at the Lakeshore Theatre.
