Blackbird @ Victory Gardens Biograph Theatre

Jul 15 2009

blackbird-title-platelowrespreviewWilliam Petersen, former star of CBS-TV’s CSI, returns to the city where he first cut his chops as an actor.  For Victory Gardens’ latest production Blackbird (which is British Slang for “jailbird”) Petersen plays Ray, an ex con who reunites with his former lover from 15 years ago.  See the show the Associated Press calls ”a fascinating and unnerving ninety-minute cat and mouse tale of revenge and sexual intrigue, with genuine theatricality and undeniable shock value.”

Robin Williams @ Rosemont Theatre

Jul 15 2009

r_williams_c05_14x_125In March, Robin William’s latest comedy tour, “Weapons of Self Destruction” was postponed when the comedian underwent heart surgery. The tour will resume in September however, and it will lead him straight to Chicago.  During the TBS Just For Laughs Festival last month, our street teams were at a variety of performances at the Vic Theater promoting these highly anticipated shows.  Williams is known for his manic 2 hour sets, and the shows at the Rosemont will be no exception.   Tickets for the first performance are sold out, but the second performace just went on sale this past Monday, so be sure to purchase tickets before it’s too late!

Robin Williams performs at the Rosemont Theatre October 2nd and 3rd.

Million Dollar Quartet is currentyly at the Apollo Theatre.  For more information visit www.apollochicago.com.
