The musical version of the hit movie makes it’s way to Chicago!  Adapted for the stage by director Stephen Daldry, choreographer Peter Darling, writer Lee Hall, and with music by Elton John, Billy Elliot is the winner of ten Tony Awards, and one of the hottest musicals getting rave reviews from both critics and fans alike.

In order to build awareness for tickets going on sale, we will have a team out flyering this Friday afternoon in the downtown area.  This is sure to be one of the biggest shows of the spring, so be sure to grab a flyer from us, and learn how you can get tickets to the musical called “the best show you will ever see” by the New York Post.

As the year comes to a close, so does the celebration of Lincoln’s Bicentennial.  This past year we have been working closely with The Newberry Library to promote their Lincoln exhibitions, and currently, we are gearing up for another round of brochure distributions.  Last time around, we blanketed the city with Lincoln brochures detailing all of the upcoming events, and we will be repeating this process one more time.

In honor of one our nation’s greatest presidents, The Newberry Library is offering several informative events and exhibits including Abraham Lincoln and the Visual Arts, Honest Abe of the West, and With Malice Towards None.  Be sure to check out Newberry Library’s website for more information, and podcasts as well.

The holiday season is underway, and we are excited to be working with the Chicago Loop Alliance in promoting Winter Wonderloop.  With deals and special events at restaurants, stores, and hotels, Winter Wonderloop is the premiere guide for all your downtown holiday events.

If you were in the loop late late last week, you probably received a Winter Wonderloop brochure from one of our staff members. We had teams out in full force distributing thousands of brochures to commuters, shoppers and pedestrians.  Be sure to look for us this Thursday and Friday, and we will also be out on the infamous “Black Friday” distributing brochures to all of the Christmas shoppers.  Be sure to say hello, and grab a brochure!

Once again, we’ve teamed up with BMF Media Group and this time we are working together to promote the Wired Holiday pop-up store in NYC. The Wired Store opens this Saturday, November 21st  and will be open Wednesdays through Sundays through December 27th in the Meatpacking District. You’ll find all that’s new & next in the world of WIRED: Cutting-edge technology & design… The latest in games & gaming… Cool new music & books… Hot new gear & gadgets… Indoor & outdoor inspiration… Products to help you lead a greener life… And the opportunity to own your very own WIRED-branded stuff.

We have activated our NYC street teams and will be distributing handbills throughout the city on the weekends over the course of the next three weeks. Our street teams will be driving traffic to the store and announcing daily promotions and events.

The Wired Store is on 13th between 9th and Washington. Store hours are Wednesdays through Sundays, noon to 9PM and will be close on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.

Our pets Specialty Route came in handy when Rosemont Theatre came calling about their performance with Cesar Milan, the Dog Whisperer. We visited pet boutiques, animal hospitals, dog parks, and doggie day cares throughout the city to promote Cesar’s live performance at the Rosemont Theatre. Get your questions  ready as participants will learn how they inadvertently play a role in their dog’s behavioral “issues”, but also how to change this dynamic by learning how to see the world from their pet’s perspective. The program will conclude with a Q&A session with the audience.

Like many I’ve spoken with recently, I had no idea who Florence Foster Jenkins was until a recent discussion on the hilarious Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me. Since then, I’ve heard her name brought up more then once in recent conversations. Florence Foster Jenkins’ recent thrust in the spotlight makes me all the more excited to see Northlight Theatre’s latest production, Souvenir. This uproarious and musical story inspired by Florence Foster Jenkins the “Tone-Deaf Diva”: a New York socialite whose tin ear couldn’t keep her off the stage at Carnegie Hall.  As seen through the eyes of her beloved accompanist, Souvenir is a touching and comic tribute to Ms. Jenkins’ sincerity, ambition, deep love of music and complete lack of talent, all of which brought a unique joy to thousands.

Souvenir is currently running and plays through December 20th. Tickets are available here and if tickets are purchased for performances prior to the 20th of November you’ll save $5.

Barbie is absolutely everywhere these days and the Rosemont Theatre is no exception! Barbie at the Symphony will be coming to Rosemont Theatre on Saturday, December 12 and is a a special film with Orchestra presentation of the best-selling Barbie™ “Princess” movies, under the musical direction of Arnie Roth. The film is an adaption of  6 CGI animated films features Barbie™ singing and dancing to some of the world’s best loved musical scores. Released in over 30 languages, these popular films have introduced millions of children to Ballets such as The Nutcracker and Swan Lake, and the timeless music to which they are set.

We’re very excited to be working for the first time with Rosemont Theatre on the latest incarnation of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s South Pacific as it makes it’s way to the Rosemont for a limited run. The Broadway classic, South Pacific tells the sweeping romantic story of two couples — US Navy nurse Nellie Forbush and French plantation owner Emile de Becque and Navy Airman Joe Cable and a young local native girl Liat — and how their happiness is threatened by the realities of war and by their own prejudices.

South Pacific is only in town for 8 shows starting November 24th and running through November 29th. Often lauded as the best musical ever written, this show is not to be missed!
