The 2010 Chicago Improv Festival is hear!  It seems like just like yesterday when we were promoting the 12th Annual Improv Festival. This year it’s lucky number 13 however as 70 acts from around the world take over 12 stages in the city! This is already gearing up to be the best improv festival yet.

We are excited once again to work with CIF, and look forward to another stellar year of performances. Check out who’s coming to town and where they’ll be performing in addition to the special events that will be hosted all over town.

Today, 1 in 3 marriages end in divorce. However, it isn’t likely that a woman will lose her head physically! But that was just an everyday fear held by many women pursued by King Henry the VIII of England between 1509 and 1547. Created by The Foursight Theatre Company in Wolverhampton, England in 1999, Six Dead Queens and an Inflatable Henry! is a devised theatre piece packed with intrigue, rowdy good humor and duels of words.

Previously, we have worked with Piccolo on Perseus and Medusa. Now we are glad to working with them once again on this exciting new show! Six Dead Queens premiered last Friday, so make sure you grab tickets while you can.

In How Theater Failed America, Mike Daisey sinks his razor-sharp wit into a subject he knows well: the American theater. From gorgeous new theaters standing empty as cathedrals, to “successful” working actors traveling like migrant farmhands, to an arts culture unwilling to speak or listen to its own nation, Daisey takes stock of the dystopian state of theater  in America: a shrinking world with smaller audiences every year.

We are in the middle of a promotional campaign with Victory Gardens, and are quickly spreading the word on this funny, witty, self deprecating show. With only six performances, you’ll want to make sure you grab tickets.

April 2010 is bringing a ton of fun classes and events to the Old Town School of Folk Music. While it’s true we are practically at the halfway point for the month, there are still plenty of things going on. Classes offer everything from guitar to harmonica to dance to singing. 8 week classes begin the week of April 26th. OTSFM is one of regular clients who we constantly work with and we’ll be bringing their April brochures all around the city.

Broadway’s own Mike Burstyn makes his Centre East debut! The musical theater star sings show-stopping favorites accompanied by a three-piece band. Joining him is ‘Catskills on Broadway’ comedian Mal Z. Lawrence, for a superb night of entertainment!

Last time we worked with the North Shore Center, was back in December for the One Man Star Wars Trilogy.  This time around, we’re promoting pretty much the exact polar opposite. This once night only performance is sure to pack the house, so be sure you make your reservations today!

Both on separate tours, Ozomatli and Steel Pulse will be making their way to the House of Blues in Chicago in May. Currently promoting their new album Fire Away (which comes out on April 20th), Ozomatli are tearing up the road and venue circuit with their unique blend of Latin, Jazz, Hip Hop, and funk.  Steel Pulse, who are touring with Toots and the Mytals, are rocking venues across the country with their stone cold reggae grooves.

We’re working with our buddies at  House of Blues, promoting both of these exciting acts. We’ll be turning up at concerts in Chicago distributing double sided handbills which advertise both shows. Be sure to grab one, and say hi!

Beer Hoptacular, a celebration for all true beer enthusiasts, kicks off its first year with beer samplings, demonstrations and fun from craft brewers, beer experts, home brewers, and local artisans. Attendees will enjoy a select variety of more than two hundred small-batch beers, the best of the best from across the Midwest, other regions in the U.S. and abroad. Those in attendance can interact with the brewers themselves and cast their vote to select the “Beer Hoptacular Beer of the Year.”

We enjoy working on a variety of projects, but you can probably guess that we are super excited to be a part of  Hoptacular. We’ve begun distributing posters throughout the city, including several of the brewers that will be in attendance.  Since it is only 2 days you can imagine that tickets are gonna go fast. The Flaming Dames bring your favorite ladies from cartoons, comics, and the silver screen to life…and take it all off in Nerdlesque, the latest offering from Chicago’s premier concept burlesque troupe. Dressed as the sexiest hotties from the world of comic books, science fiction, Tarantino films and 80’s cartoons, the hottest burlesque performers in the city make all your adolescent dreams come true while revealing their “secret identities” right before your eyes.

Last month, we worked on two incredible events with adidas to roll out their new MiCoach Running System. This week, we’ll be in Boston with Action Marketing Group launching another initiative coinciding with the Boston Marathon. We’ll have teams at the John Hancock Sports and Fitness Expo demonstrating the MiCoach system as well as adidas apparel. Outside of the convention we’ll have roaming teams out and about giving away free swag and signing people up for special limited time offers. The weekend of fun will come to end on Monday at the Boston Marathon as we have staff there distributing shirts, yoga mats, and even applying temporary tattoos!

The John Hancock Sports and Fitness Expo is at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston April 16th through the 18th. The Boston Marathon takes place on April 19th.

Thodos Dance Chicago is a critically acclaimed contemporary dance company with a vibrant, award-winning style. The Company performs on the national and international dance circuits, as well as in Chicago’s most prominent dance events.  This ensemble of well-rounded artists brings you contemporary dance incorporating a program featuring “Fosse Trilogy,” Thodos Dance Chicago’s third collaboration with Broadway legend Ann Reinking.
