February @ Chicago History Museum

Feb 08 2012

Tomorrow night the Chicago History Museum continues its Out at CHM program with Bayard Rustin at 100: Rediscovering a Forgotten Hero. Mr. Rustin brought Ghandi’s techniques to America in the 40s, mentored Dr. King and was an organizer of the 1963 March on Washington, yet most people haven’t heard of the man. This probably has to do with being an openly gay man in an intensely homophobic era. The evening features cocktails at 5:30 and the program begins at 6:30. It’s one of many events throughout the month of February at the CHM.

The direction staff has been distributing Chicago History Museum materials on multiple specialty routes and on our regular neighborhood stops.

The Chicago History Museum is open seven days a week. Most days feature at least one special event. Please visit chicagohistory.org to plan a visit or CHM outing that would suit your needs.
