At the end of the month, skating insanity will be unleashed at the UIC Pavilion as The Windy City Rollers host their first match of the new decade. Founded 5 years ago, The Windy City Rollers have been gaining quit a bit of momentum as of late thanks to lots of press, a feature film or two about roller derby, and the grassroots fan foundation that started it all.

We’re very excited to be working with The Windy City Rollers on their upcoming matches.  Our team will be making the rounds armed with posters and handbills hitting up locations in the city, northshore, and college campuses, so keep keep your eyes peeled, and be sure to check out the ladies of WCR battle it out!

We previously mentioned that we will be distributing coasters to bars and venues in and around the Apollo Theater in support of the latest show extension of MDQ. In addition to that, we are also targeting Chicago campuses including Columbia College, Loyola, and DePaul for a massive poster distribution. Our teams will be out hanging up posters which feature removable tabs that you will want to get your hands on since they allow students to purchase $20 tickets to the show. We’re very excited to be working with Hopera World on their upcoming production at the DuSable Museum of African American History. We’re currently distributing posters and handbills on a number of campuses in the Chicago area to help build awareness and hype for the premier.

A Fallen Hero is a full length Hip Hop Opera production with original music by Adrian Dunn. This moving story set in Chicago follows the life of young Obadiah King and his quest to find himself. This dynamic cast of ten operatic and popular vocalists, dancers, and rappers present Obadiah’s ability to triumph over loss, rejection, and even death.

Next week, keep an eye out for our direction street teams visiting college campuses throughout Chicago promoting The Mystery of Irma Vep opening  Thursday, November 12th at the Court Theatre in Hyde Park. Our teams will be distributing handbills and posting posters for this contender for the funniest American play of the last quarter-century.

Two actors take on innumerable dramatis personae in Charles Ludlam’s high-camp quick-change romp. Vep satirizes all that is ridiculous in Gothic Horror, Victorian melodrama, classic film, and conventional theatre. In addition, Court Theatre takes audience engagement to a whole new level by commissioning former University of Chicago math professor, Kevin Wald to create an exclusive crossword puzzle for the show. Wordplay, puzzles, and esoteric puns abound throughout the show and this crossword puzzle is not for the faint of heart
