Tide and the Super Bowl: Dallas

With the Super Bowl being in Dallas this year, we are working with our friends at BMF Media organizing a massive product sample distribution in the Lone Star State. Starting on Thursday, our team in Dallas will be traveling to various locations in the city, distributing sample size boxes of Tide detergent. Any Super Bowl event you can think of in Dallas: we will be there. We have worked with BMF for several years now, including Cafe Bustelo promotions in Chicago and Miami. If you are gonna be in Dallas, keep an eye our for our team, stop by, grab a sample, and say hi!

adidas – Disney Soccer Showcase: Orlando 2010

It’s that time of year, and we are excited to be part of the Disney Soccer Showcase in Orlando, FL once again! Action Marketing Group has put together a stellar series of activities for adidas during the Disney Soccer Showcase, including trying out the latest adiPURE IV soccer shoes in scrimages. In between and after the official games, players are welcome to hang out in the Chelsea’s Players lounge, where there will be foosball tables, flat screen TVs and sports massage therapists to administer massages to the athletes. We’ve assembeled a great staff of brand ambassadors for AMG to use during these events, and are anticipating a great turnout!

The Lost Art of Cinco w/ Dos Equis!

For the past two weeks direction has been working with our good friends at Mirrorball to bring The Lost Art of Cinco to bars and venues throughout the Chicagoland area. We’ve been having a lot of fun leading these activations and coordinating the logistics for the Aztec Goddess of Cinco as she represents her tribe in celebration of Cinco de Mayo and Dos XX. The Aztec inspired promotion is travelling from bar to bar to ‘open the skies’ for the celebration of Cinco de Mayo with spiritual dancing and drumming.

Come Celebrate Cinco de Mayo and visit the Goddess and her maidens TONIGHT at Cactus, Tilted Kilt, Bull & Bear, and The Boundary. We’ll be making our stops starting at 5:30PM and will continue through the evening. Don’t forget to ask one of our maidens for your own complimentary Dos Equis!

adidas Autograph Session – New York City

If you’re a fan of the Mexican national soccer team, and you’re going to be in New York City, you will not want to miss this. Today, fans are invited to an autograph signing session with the members of Team Mexico at the adidas Sport Performance Store located at 610 Broadway in NYC.

We worked very quickly with our friends at the Action Marketing Group in order to pull staff together for the autograph session. This is a must see for any soccer fan so be sure to bring your favorite jersey to be autographed by Team Mexico!

The Team Mexico autograph session takes place today from 4:30 to 5:30 P.M at the adidas Sport Performance Store located at 610 Broadway in NYC.

adidas – MiCoach Boston

Last month, we worked on two incredible events with adidas to roll out their new MiCoach Running System. This week, we’ll be in Boston with Action Marketing Group launching another initiative coinciding with the Boston Marathon. We’ll have teams at the John Hancock Sports and Fitness Expo demonstrating the MiCoach system as well as adidas apparel. Outside of the convention we’ll have roaming teams out and about giving away free swag and signing people up for special limited time offers. The weekend of fun will come to end on Monday at the Boston Marathon as we have staff there distributing shirts, yoga mats, and even applying temporary tattoos!

The John Hancock Sports and Fitness Expo is at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston April 16th through the 18th. The Boston Marathon takes place on April 19th.

Karnivool: US Tour

Australia’s prog rockers make there way stateside for a nationwide tour! Winner’s of several Australian awards including Most Popular Act and Most Popular Live Act, Karnivool will be tooling around the country hitting up several major cities and events including SXSW.

Along with our friends at SonyMusic Independent Network, we’ll be promoting some of the city stops along the way; setting up venues and promoting in and around the area of the performances. Be sure to check out Karnivool when they come to your city, and keep an eye out for our teams on the street!

adidas – Meet MiCoach

This week, we are working with our good friends at the Action Marketing Group as part of adidas’ new campaign for their miCoach products and website. We organized staff in Portland, OR and Jacksonville, FL who are demonstrating the miCoach gear and system. They will also be stationed at annual races (Shamrock Run in Portland, Gate River Run in Jacksonville) in order to pass out promo materials, and get runners excited about miCoach. Cafe Bustelo @ Coconut Grove Arts Festival

This past weekend, we had the opportunity to manage an event at the annual Coconut Grove Arts Festival in Miami in support of Cafe Bustelo. If you were lucky enough to be in Florida and attended the fest, you most likely saw our staff passing out postcards that were redeemable at Cafe Bustelo’s flagship store for a free espresso. The staff was able to soak up the sun while promoting one of the best brands of Cuban coffee.

Just a reminder to our friends around the country; direction tour marketing can manage and staff events in practically every major city. Be sure to think of us when you need seasoned brand ambassadors for your next event!

NBA Allstar Jam Session

We’ve teamed up with 361 Experiential and will be working with them to execute 3 mall activations in Salt Lake City on December 12th and December 13th.

Qwest Communications will be hosting the Utah Jazz Dancers who will be wrapping your Christmas gifts for a small donation to the South Valley Boys and Girls Club. Wired Magazine Pop-up Store NYC

Once again, we’ve teamed up with BMF Media Group and this time we are working together to promote the Wired Holiday pop-up store in NYC. The Wired Store opens this Saturday, November 21st and will be open Wednesdays through Sundays through December 27th in the Meatpacking District. You’ll find all that’s new & next in the world of WIRED: Cutting-edge technology & design… The latest in games & gaming… Cool new music & books… Hot new gear & gadgets… Indoor & outdoor inspiration… Products to help you lead a greener life… And the opportunity to own your very own WIRED-branded stuff.

We have activated our NYC street teams and will be distributing handbills throughout the city on the weekends over the course of the next three weeks. Our street teams will be driving traffic to the store and announcing daily promotions and events.

The Wired Store is on 13th between 9th and Washington. Store hours are Wednesdays through Sundays, noon to 9PM and will be close on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.

The Most Interesting Show in the World @ Park West

The Most Interesting Man in the World will be bringing his cast of characters to Chicago as the Most Interesting Show in the World. On Friday, November 6th Dos Equis and Mirrorball will transform Chicago’s Park West into an evening you won’t soon forget. This stop will be hosted by Fishbone’s own Angelo Moore as he intertwines an evening of music, acrobatics, burlesque, and contortion.

direction tour marketing will be working with long-time friends Mirrorball with on site event logistics for this event of events. This event is a private event and by invitation only… though we may have an invite for you here.

adidas Street Team Activation

If you spent anytime this past weekend near Water Tower Place you may have come across our adidas street teams promoting adidas’ relationship with the NBA with a fun call-to-action retail promotion created by Action Marketing Group. This past weekend and next weekend too our street teams are distributing go-cards to consumers along Michigan Avenue’s Magnificent Mile. Shoppers can then redeem our go-cards for a token at the adidas Sport Performance store to use in a giant gum ball machine. Instead of gum balls, the machine distributes NBA bouncy balls and if you’re lucky enough to get a black bouncy ball you win a $100 gift card to use at the adidas sport performance store!

Visit our street teams next weekend (Sat. or Sun.) to receive your token for a chance to win 12 – $100 gift cards for the adidas Sports Performance store.

Dane Cook @ the Bradley Center Milwaukee

Funnyman Dane Cook makes his way to Milwaukee this weekend for a show at the Bradley Center. The comic has been accustomed to playing stadiums since his Vicious Circle performance. Now, he’s making the rounds with the new Isolated Incident Tour. We organized a team in Milwaukee that has been flyering at shows, promoting at college campuses, and distributing materials to retail locations in the city all week. If you like comedy, and are in Milwaukee, be sure to check out this show.

Neuro Drinks and Perez Hilton Presents!

A few weeks ago, we were asked to be part of a touring sample promotion for the drink brand Neuro. The tour coincides with the current Perez Hilton Presents! concert tour which is making its way across the country. So far, we’ve been to Atlanta, Washington DC, Philadelphia, Boston, and New York distributing samples to patrons prior to the show.
