For the past two weeks direction has been working with our good friends at Mirrorball to bring The Lost Art of Cinco to bars and venues throughout the Chicagoland area. We’ve been having a lot of fun leading these activations and coordinating the logistics for the Aztec Goddess of Cinco as she represents her tribe in celebration of Cinco de Mayo and Dos XX. The Aztec inspired promotion is travelling from bar to bar to ‘open the skies’ for the celebration of Cinco de Mayo with spiritual dancing and drumming.

Come Celebrate Cinco de Mayo and visit the Goddess and her maidens TONIGHT at Cactus, Tilted Kilt, Bull & Bear, and The Boundary. We’ll be making our stops starting at 5:30PM and will continue through the evening. Don’t forget to ask one of our maidens for your own complimentary Dos Equis!

Last month, we worked on two incredible events with adidas to roll out their new MiCoach Running System. This week, we’ll be in Boston with Action Marketing Group launching another initiative coinciding with the Boston Marathon. We’ll have teams at the John Hancock Sports and Fitness Expo demonstrating the MiCoach system as well as adidas apparel. Outside of the convention we’ll have roaming teams out and about giving away free swag and signing people up for special limited time offers. The weekend of fun will come to end on Monday at the Boston Marathon as we have staff there distributing shirts, yoga mats, and even applying temporary tattoos!

The John Hancock Sports and Fitness Expo is at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston April 16th through the 18th. The Boston Marathon takes place on April 19th.

The 2010 Creative Chicago Expo at the Chicago Cultural Center is a highly successful event that connects artists and art organizations in all disciplines. The Creative Chicago Expo is free and open to the public. Last year, over 5,000 people connected with vendors, workshops, and consultants, taking advantage of Chicago’s top resources, services and expertise for individuals and organizations in all the arts.

Not only will direction tour marketing be promoting the 2010 expo, but we will have a booth as well! We’ll be checking out tons of booths of clients and friends. Be sure to come by our table and say hello !

The newest Disney On Ice spectacular promises to turn an ordinary day into an extraordinary one. Disney On Ice presents Let’s Celebrate! featuring a magical montage of first-time and perennially popular Disney characters celebrating holidays and festivals from around the world.

We helped out our friends at Feld Entertainment by printing handbills and posters to be distributed throughout the suburbs advertising the upcoming performances. Also, if you and your family attended Curious George this past weekend at the Sears Centre, you probably saw our street team in action passing out Disney On Ice handbills. Let’s Celebrate starts today, so be sure to get tickets before they are gone!

We work regularly with the Chicago History Museum on a variety of promotional distributions, but now we’ll be helping them with a unique street promotion on election day. This Tuesday, we’ll be working in conjunction with their North & Clark Cafe to distribute coffee and muffin samples to voters who make it out to the polling stations early.  There are two places to vote (the Latin School & the Chicago History Museum) and we’ll have teams at both locations handing out free samples to all who brave the weather to cast their ballots. The cafe will also have special hours that day (they’ll be open at 6am), so if you dig the samples, head over to grab yourself a proper coffee and breakfast.

North & Clark Cafe is located in the Chicago History Museum at 1601 N. Clark and is open daily from 9:30am-3pm Moday through Saturday, 12pm-4pm on Sundays.

We’re at it again this week with Hornitos Tequila. Over the course of the summer, we’ve produced 9 Hornitos Mischieve parties at bars and clubs throughout the city. This Thursday, we’ll be setting up at Roscoes’s (3356 N. Halsted) from 10PM through 12AM. We’ll be sampling a variety of fantastic Hornitos cocktails including my favorite, the Horni Wallbanger. The Horni Wallbanger is two parts Hornitos Plata, 4 parts OJ, and 1 part Galliano… Delish!

A few weeks ago, we were asked to be part of a touring sample promotion for the drink brand Neuro.  The tour coincides with the current Perez Hilton Presents! concert tour which is making its way across the country.  So far, we’ve been to Atlanta, Washington DC, Philadelphia, Boston, and New York distributing samples to patrons prior to the show. Tomorrow we’ll be at Chicago’s own Metro passing out samples of Neuro. Stop by, grab a drink, and say hello!

Everyone is familiar with The Most Interesting Man in the World.  Now, Dos Equis is offering people a chance to enroll at The Most Interesting Academy.  The Academy, which features instructors such as Bear Grylls and Chris Fischer, offers online courses, webisodes and in-person demonstrations about how to be more interesting.  Dos Equis will also be visiting various cities in order to hype The Most Interesting Academy, including  a stop in Chicago.  We will be managing the events for Dos Equis, which will include free samples of product as well.  Be sure to check us out!

Dos Equis’ Most Interesting Academy will be in Chicago August 6th through 8th.

Towards the end of May, we participated in a large distribution for a new iced coffee drink from the folks at Cafe Bustelo.  You may have spotted us at different El Stations as our team handed out free cans of Bustelo Cool.  It’s not yet available in Chicago, but with the word of mouth that ensued after our distribution, it’s just a matter of time look for it at your local store.

This week is shaping up to be pretty busy for us, especially because we’ll be assisting with an event almost 2000 miles away.  Starting on Friday, the Natural Product Expo West will descend upon the Anaheim Convention Center in California.  You wouldn’t guess it, but we do dabble in the promotion and product sampling of Rachel’s Cottage Cheese & Yogurt.  Our staff will be there giving out samples, and informing the attendees about the benefits of Rachel’s all natural dairy products.  If you’re in the area, and are into natural health products, this is a yearly event you won’t want to miss.

The 2009 Natural Products Expo West is at the Anaheim Convention Center March 6th-8th.
