Steppenwolf Theatre's Young Adult Council

The Young Adult Council is a unique after-school program for passionate and motivated high school students who want to learn the inner-workings of professional theatre from the most celebrated artists in the city. In addition to invaluable face-time with these leading professionals, Council members attend the best plays in Chicago, learn how to analyze and speak about these plays, and organize events for their peers.

We are utilizing our youth route in order to distribute posters advertising this program around high schools, and high school hangouts in the city of Chicago. We’ve worked with Steppenwolf before on similar projects involving youth, and we enjoy helping to offer special programs like these to future stars of the stage.

The Brother/Sister Plays: Campus Coverage

We had previously mentioned The Brother/Sister Plays in one of our other posts. The Steppenwolf productions has been receiving rave reviews since it began, and now, we are looking to help increase the fan base even more. We are working closely with Steppenwolf to distribute materials throughout college campuses in Chicago. Our handbills offer $15 tickets for all students for the Brother/Sister performances. With such a great deal, there is no reason you should not go see the this show.

Summer Camps @ the School of the Art Institute of Chicago

Because it is still pretty chilly out, it’s hard to imagine summertime, which seems like it’s light years away. But our friends at SAIC are already planning various summer camps for the entire family to enjoy. Starting in June, SAIC will begin a variety of programs and curriculum for your youngsters. Classes include multimedia, fashion, and other art forms.

We began our postcard distribution this week advertising. Registration for summer camps is already underway, so be sure to grab a postcard which advertises all of the camps and dates. If you act now, you can sign up and become eligible to win a free class at SAIC!

Lillstreet – Spring 2010

The spring session for Old Town School of Folk Music’s adult classes is now weeks away. Offering classes on dance, instruments, and singing, it’s perfect place to flex your artistic muscles. Cafe Bustelo @ Coconut Grove Arts Festival

This past weekend, we had the opportunity to manage an event at the annual Coconut Grove Arts Festival in Miami in support of Cafe Bustelo. If you were lucky enough to be in Florida and attended the fest, you most likely saw our staff passing out postcards that were redeemable at Cafe Bustelo’s flagship store for a free espresso. The staff was able to soak up the sun while promoting one of the best brands of Cuban coffee.

North & Clark Cafe @ the Chicago History Museum

We work regularly with the Chicago History Museum on a variety of promotional distributions, but now we’ll be helping them with a unique street promotion on election day. This Tuesday, we’ll be working in conjunction with their North & Clark Cafe to distribute coffee and muffin samples to voters who make it out to the polling stations early. There are two places to vote (the Latin School & the Chicago History Museum) and we’ll have teams at both locations handing out free samples to all who brave the weather to cast their ballots. The cafe will also have special hours that day (they’ll be open at 6am), so if you dig the samples, head over to grab yourself a proper coffee and breakfast.

North & Clark Cafe is located in the Chicago History Museum at 1601 N. Clark and is open daily from 9:30am-3pm Moday through Saturday, 12pm-4pm on Sundays.

Million Dollar Quartet Coasters!!!

Soon, the unstoppable Million Dollar Quartet will be debuting on Broadway. But, that doesn’t mean the curtain is closing in Chicago just yet. MDQ is back for another extension, this time through the month of March! We have played a significant role in the promotion of this production over the past year, doing everything from hand-2-hand distributions to banner back pack promos, to on-the-street video interviews. 2009 is almost gone, and soon, a new year and new decade will be ushered in. What better way is there to start off than visiting the Chicago History Museum! For the first month of 2010, CHM will be hosting some very exciting and unique events including Compañeras a film profiling America’s first all-female mariachi band, Vino in the Village which features food, wine, and history, and lastly, a very special celebration of Martin Luther King Jr Day on January 18th.

Lillstreet Holiday Card and Other Fun Things
