You don’t have to travel downtown to see world class opera. Chamber Opera Chicago is staging a new musical adaptation of the beloved Jane Austen work “Persuasion.” An original adaptation by Barbara Landis, this premier will feature songs from the Austen manuscript and other music of the period. The fully staged production is pulling out all the stops and will also feature an orchestra. Whether you’re in an English 101 course or a long time lover of Austen, this is an excellent opportunity to check out a beloved story in a brand new setting.

The Mortar Theatre is staging the world premier of “Mother Bear.” The production is a play for fans of “Sons of Anarchy,” noir classics from the 40s, and who is playing who type thrillers. Freely is an idealistic young lawyer, trying to strengthen a truckers union. Mother is the man he needs on his side, a grizzled man well respected by thugs and a crafty business man re-selling drugs and weapons. Freely, Mother and a cast of characters reveal that not everyone is what they appear to be.

Chamber Opera Chicago is staging the classic Rodgers and Hammerstain musical, “The Sound of Music,” on June 11 and 12 at the Athenaeum Theatre in Lakeview. The classic heartwarming love story based upon the memoirs of Maria von Trapp is suitable for all ages. This staging will include a full orchestra and features Barbara Landis and Nick Sandys.

In addition to distributing posters and handbills throughout the north side for this two day run, direction printworks handled the production of all show posters.

The classic tale by Jane Austen courtesy of Chamber Opera Chicago makes its way to the stage of the Athenaeum Theatre for it’s Chicago debut! We previously worked with Chamber Opera Chicago on their annual holiday classic Amuhl and the Night Visitors, and we are very excited that they invited us to work with them again on their latest production.

Lucid tells the story of Peter Moore, a discontented artist who begins to experiment with the art of lucid dreaming, fulfilling his wildest fantasies with an imagined mistress. Soon, Peter discovers that he may have permanently blurred the line that separates dream from reality.
