It began as a comeback album of sorts. After getting a little soft and using more and more acoustic guitars, Green Day wasn't nearly as popular since their major label debut "Dookie." Nearly 10 years later, they were at a crossroads. "American Idiot," the bands first concept album, was released with moderate expectations. It eclipsed those expectations. The record spawned multiple Grammy's, year long arena world tours, a live album and a small musical. That musical, similiar to the album, grew into an award winning Broadway show, Tony award winning hit. It's coming to Chicago for the first time next week and just like the Broadway run, will sell out.
The direction team has been distributing posters for this Broadway in Chicago production on our specialty bars and venues route and on our popular hipster route.
"American Idiot" will be at the Oriental Theatre only from February 7 to February 19. Tickets are currently available. For details and a complete list of current and upcoming Broadway in Chicago shows, please visit broadwayinchicago.com.

To say the longest running show in Chicago, "Million Dollar Quartet," holds a special place in our heart is a bit on an understatement. We've been happily promoting this hit, Tony award winning musical for a few years and we hope it never ends. Though Elvis, Jerry Lee, Carl and Johnny only played music together on tape one magical evening, this production is keeping the music alive. The legends of rock, country and rockabilly are still going strong in Lincoln Park and across the world. Just last week they were featured on "Capital Fourth," the musical extravaganza broadcast from our nation's capital. You don't have to head to Broadway when the legends are alive in your backyard.
The direction team has been promoting this Broadway in Chicago musical at events throughout the city and suburbs. We've been working some hand to hand distribution at the Folk & Roots Fest, Glencoe Fest, Taste of Lincoln, Long Grove Wine Fest and more.
"Million Dollar Quartet" is running at the Apollo Theatre, just a few blocks from the Red and Brown Line Lincoln Park El station. For tickets, show times and videos from the musical, please visit milliondollarquartetlive.com.

A few years later Broadway decided it should be a musical. After a short run the production ended. Since then "Working" has been a PBS special, a graphic novel and inspired a sequel.
Theatre for a New Audience, the first U.S. based theatre company to be invited to the Royal Shakespeare Company, is staging "The Merchant of Venice." The controversial and classic play is coming off of performances Off-Broadway and in Stratford-Upon-Avon. Shylock is being played by Oscar winner F. Murray Abraham ("Amadeus," "Scarface") and the play is directed by Darko Tesnjak, the former Artistic Director at the Old Globe. "The New York Times" said, "Mr. Tresnjak and his superb cast allow us to see with unusual clarity the light and the dark in Shakespeare’s characters, not just the wronged but vengeful Shylock and his nemesis, the casually bigoted Antonio (Tom Nelis), but also the wise, loving Portia (Kate MacCluggage), who sees fit to test her husband’s love with unnecessary calculation, and comparatively insignificant players like the servant Launcelot Gobbo (a spirited, funny Jacob Ming-Trent)."
Direction has been plastering posters throughout the city to promote this Broadway in Chicago production.
"The Merchant of Venice" runs today until March 27 at the Bank of America Theatre. Please visit broadwayinchicago.com for tickets and more information.

Shylock is being played by Oscar winner F. Murray Abraham (“Amadeus,” “Scarface”) and the play is directed by Darko Tesnjak, the former Artistic Director at the Old Globe. “The New York Times” said, “Mr. Tresnjak and his superb cast allow us to see with unusual clarity the light and the dark in Shakespeare’s characters, not just the wronged but vengeful Shylock and his nemesis, the casually bigoted Antonio (Tom Nelis), but also the wise, loving Portia (Kate MacCluggage), who sees fit to test her husband’s love with unnecessary calculation, and comparatively insignificant players like the servant Launcelot Gobbo (a spirited, funny Jacob Ming-Trent).”

Direction has been plastering posters throughout the city to promote this Broadway in Chicago production.

“The Merchant of Venice” runs today until March 27 at the Bank of America Theatre. Please visit broadwayinchicago.com for tickets and more information.

The Broadway hit is finally here! Billy Elliot the Musical makes it's way to Chicago this spring for an extended stay. Billy Elliot is the heartwarming celebration of one young boy’s triumph against the odds. Set in a small mining town, the story follows Billy’s journey as he stumbles out of a boxing ring and into a ballet class and discovers his dream to dance.
You might remember not too long ago we did a promotion for the Billy Elliot onsale. We had staff members with banner packs targeting commuters and holiday shoppers with handbills. Now, we will be staring retail distribution of promo materials throughout the city. If you haven't done so yet, get your tickets right away for what is sure to be the hit musical of the year!
Billy Elliot the Musical is at the Ford Center/Oriental Theatre starting on March 18th. For more information, please visit www.broadwayinchicago.com for more information
