Elizabeth Rex @ Chicago Shakespeare Theater

Dec 05 2011

Written by Timothy Findley and directed by Barbara Gaines, “Elizabeth Rex” puts us with Shakespeare, the night before his death. The bard is reliving a night 15 years past, when his company had to perform for the Queen under very cautious circumstances. A play about mortality and facing it, this work isn’t your typical holiday fare.

The direction staff has been distributing posters and handbills for this Chicago Shakespeare show throughout the more theater friendly neighborhoods of Chicago’s north side.

“Elizabeth Rex” will be at the Chicago Shakespeare Courtyard Theater in previews the next two nights until opening its regular run from December 7 to January 22. Tickets are currently available.
