We’re happy to be working the upcoming Rodrigo y Gabriela show at the Chicago Theatre being produced by Jam Productions. This world renowned guitar duo doesn’t make it to town that often so we take every chance we get to see them. This tour will feature the group performing with a backing band throughout the US for the first time. C.U.B.A., who collaborated with the duo on the recent album “Area 52,” will be playing on all dates.

The direction staff has been hanging posters and delivering handbills for this performance on our hipster and Latino specialty route distributions.

The guy you know from “News Radio” is a stand up. The host of “Fear Factor” has been a peer of folks like Doug Stanhope, Dave Attell and Artie Lange for the last twenty years. The guy calling the MMA fights is a well respected comedic voice in podcasting. If you don’t know who Joe Rogan is, a simple Google search will reveal legions of adoring fans for the sometimes controversial comic.

David Garrett is known around the world. His violin stylings are bringing classical music into the pop forum. A recent album of interpretations of rock songs from the likes of Nirvana, Aerosmith, Metallica and more have Garrett reaching across genres. After appearances on “Oprah,” “The Today Show,” NPR and more, Garrett shows no sign of slowing down.

One of the few southern rock/blues husband/wife duos, the Tedeschi Trucks Band is bringing their live show to Chicago this August. The couple, made up of Derek Trucks (Allman Brothers Band, The Derek Trucks Band) and Susan Tedeschi, has just released their first album, “Revelator” and will be touring the world this summer.

The direction staff has been promoting, and will be promoting, this Madison Square Garden Entertainment event at multiple concerts and street festivals, including Bluesfest, Green Music Fest, Folk & Roots Fest, Old 97′s, Steve Earle, Taste of Lincoln, Phish and Lollapalooza.

The man, the legend Willie Nelson is bringing his never ending tour to the Chicago Theatre this Friday evening. Willie doesn’t usually stop in Chicago so this is a special show. You’ll hear all the songs you forgot the man wrote and recorded over the last fifty years. Take advantage and see this American icon while you can.

In addition to promoting this show on our routes, direction also handled show hits outside of Drive By Truckers, The Blasters, Sonny Landreth, Rodney Cromwell, and Traveling McCoury’s. Direction printworks handled the production of all promotional materials.

Anita Baker is coming to the Chicago Theatre. She’ll be there just before Valentine’s Day. Well, that works out quite well for all the couples that don’t know what to buy each other. Tickets to the eight time Grammy winner are on sale now. Whether you’re a casual fan or follow the classic singer, it’s hard not to enjoy such hits as, “Sweet Love,” “Body & Soul,” and “Giving You The Best That I Got.”

The highest selling band in French music history, the Gipsy Kings, are coming to the Chicago for a one-night only stand. The group has sold over twenty million records, over four million of those in the states. We’re happy to be working with the Advice Agency to get the word out for this international supergroup.

The direction team created a foodie route for this show. We targeted upscale wine shops, creameries, gourmet grocers and more. In addition to this new plan of distribution, which is now part of our growing arsenal of specialty routes, we also promoted the show on our Yoga and Natural Living specialty routes.

The incomparable Liza Minnelli will perform at the legendary Chicago Theatre in June. Presented by Star Productions, Minnelli will sing sensational American standards in a glamorous and intimate concert. The show will feature some of the greatest songs of all time performed in their purest, most intimate form with Minnelli and her quartet. She will be accompanied by Billy Stritch.

The director of  ”Clerks” , “Zack and Miri Make a Porno”, and “Chasing Amy” comes to the Chicago Theatre! We’ve  already begun a major poster and flyer distribution campaign to get the word out on this rare live appearance. You probably saw us in action if you attended Wizard World a couple weeks ago, as we handed out flyers to all those in attendance. Keep an eye out for our materials at your local game and comic book stores too. We’ll be visiting locations throughout the city and suburbs.

Kevin Smith is at the Chicago Theatre September 18th.

As Christmas breezes through the city, holiday themed performances make their way into Chicago.  One of them is Ian Flemming’s classic story of an inventor, his flying car, and the adventure that ensues.

We’ll be promoting Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, and several other events all at the Lights Festival this Saturday. Events like this offer a fantastic opportunity to reach children and families and allow our brand ambassadors to personally connect with consumers and engage them in conversation about events and products.

Other upcoming events like this include the State Street Thanksgiving Day Parade, Holiday on the Plaza Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, and Mayor Daley’s Holiday Sports Festival.  Sporting events are also a great place to promote and connect with consumers.  The Bears, Bulls, and Blackhawks are all in the middle of their respective seasons and present a wonderful opportunity to reach thousands of people.
