The Dance Center of Columbia College Chicago features a nationally respected academic program focusing on developing a personal voice and maturity in the dance artist. The 2010 Summer Dance Intensive offers challenging technique courses across a range of styles including yoga, ballet, and modern dance techniques, and is open to degree-seeking and community students. The Dance Center faculty is comprised of working artists, enhanced by national and international visiting artist-teachers.

Red Orkids @ The Red Orchid Theater

A Red Orchid Theatre has been kicking out some great productions over the years, but, you might not be aware of the courses they offer for kids. With classes that teach basic and advanced audition techniques, it is a great launch pad for all young entertainers. Other courses include Story Stages, AROT Youth Ensemble, and Chicago Ensemble Theatre for Teens.

The spring session for Old Town School of Folk Music’s adult classes is now weeks away. Offering classes on dance, instruments, and singing, it’s perfect place to flex your artistic muscles. As the holiday’s come to an end, Lillstreet gears up for a new year, and the start of a new semester. Offering an array of classes including metal work, sculpting and printmaking. For the professional artist and the rookie, Lillstreet offers a whole gamut of classes for all skill levels.

If you want to learn the art of comedy, you gotta go to The Second City. The institution has become synonymous with all things entertainment offering courses on writing, acting, improv, and music. 34th Annual Holiday Show @ Lillstreet Art Center

I’m sure I’m starting to sound like a broken record but Lillstreet Arts Center is such a great place to take a call and try your hand at ceramics, painting, printmaking or metalsmithing. Classes aren’t only fun but an inspiration to releasing some of that creative energy. Take a class over the holidays or give a class as a gift to friends and loved ones.

The winter season not only ushers in a new semester at Lillstreet, but their 34th Annual Holiday Show as well. Between November 16th and December 31st, stop by Lillstreet to view and purchase the wares of Lillstreet alums. These unique items make great holiday gifts and proceeds support independent artists!

Lillstreet Arts Center is located at 4401 N. Ravenswood and the 34th Annual Holiday show is open through December 31st. An Open House featuring free workshops for adults and kids’ activities is on December 5th from 12PM through 5PM.

Actors Training Center @ The Wilmette Theatre

The Actors Training Center at the Wilmette Theatre offers top notch training for actors ranging in age from 3rd graders to adults, and is considered one of the best training centers in the Chicagoland area. We began a distribution campaign this week in support of the ATC’s programs. Keep an eye out for the postcards which we placed in locations all throughout the north shore area. If you present one to the ATC, you will receive $25 off any one class.

Dos XX – Most Interesting Academy

Everyone is familiar with The Most Interesting Man in the World. Now, Dos Equis is offering people a chance to enroll at The Most Interesting Academy. The Academy, which features instructors such as Bear Grylls and Chris Fischer, offers online courses, webisodes and in-person demonstrations about how to be more interesting. Dos Equis will also be visiting various cities in order to hype The Most Interesting Academy, including a stop in Chicago. We will be managing the events for Dos Equis, which will include free samples of product as well. Be sure to check us out!

Dos Equis’ Most Interesting Academy will be in Chicago August 6th through 8th.

Kids Classes and Wiggleworms @ Old Town School of Folk Music
