Summer Dance Intensive @ Columbia College Chicago

trioInCourtyardThe Dance Center of Columbia College Chicago features a nationally respected academic program focusing on developing a personal voice and maturity in the dance artist.  The 2010 Summer Dance Intensive offers challenging technique courses across a range of styles including yoga, ballet, and modern dance techniques, and is open to degree-seeking and community students.  The Dance Center faculty is comprised of working artists, enhanced by national and international visiting artist-teachers.

We are distributing course catalogs and handbills advertising Columbia’s Summer Dance Intensive, and will be targeting a variety of off campus locations in the city. Be sure to pick one up and see what Columbia can offer you!

April 2010 – Old Town School of Folk Music

adult_classApril 2010 is bringing a ton of fun classes and events to the Old Town School of Folk Music. While it’s true we are practically at the halfway point for the month, there are still plenty of things going on. Classes offer everything from guitar to harmonica to dance to singing. 8 week classes begin the week of April 26th. OTSFM is one of regular clients who we constantly work with and we’ll be bringing their April brochures all around the city.

The Company performs on the national and international dance circuits, as well as in Chicago’s most prominent dance events.  This ensemble of well-rounded artists brings you contemporary dance incorporating a program featuring “Fosse Trilogy,” Thodos Dance Chicago’s third collaboration with Broadway legend Ann Reinking.

We are very happy to add Moraine Valley Community College as one of our newest clients. We’ve been hitting the pavement, distributing materials advertising this upcoming performance at the school.

The Creative Chicago Expo is free and open to the public. Last year, over 5,000 people connected with vendors, workshops, and consultants, taking advantage of Chicago’s top resources, services and expertise for individuals and organizations in all the arts.

Not only will direction tour marketing be promoting the 2010 expo, but we will have a booth as well! We’ll be checking out tons of booths of clients and friends. Be sure to come by our table and say hello !

Love Taps @ the Theatre Building Chicago

LoveTaps-postcard_front-webChicago Tap Theatre will be presenting its first ever tap story-show where the audience will determine the fate of the tale. Love Taps explores the concept of lonely singles searching for their soul-mates through internet dating, and what happens after those couples meet their on-line prospects in-person. During intermission, the audience will be able to decide which characters get to be paired up with each other, creating entirely different performances from night to night.

We’re very happy to be a part of this new production, and are doing our part to help spread the word on this new production. Our team has been hitting the streets, putting up posters and handbills throughout Chicago Neighborhoods.

RNDC Valentine’s Weekend Engagement @ Harris Theater

2295_proddetailThis Valentine’s Day weekend, River North Dance Company and Harris Theater have you covered with a variety of new shows! Robert Battle, returns to River North Chicago to follow 2008’s exhilarating Train with the world premiere of Ella, celebrating the scat vocals of Ella Fitzgerald. Following her recent success with American Ballet Theatre,  Lauri Stallings, returns to debut a world premiere entitled Suppose. The critically acclaimed piece, Forbidden Boundaries by Artistic Director Frank Chaves and crowd favorite, Evolution of a Dream by Sherry Zunker return to round out the Company’s 20th Anniversary season.

Through our printworks division, we’ve printed the memorable and eye catching RNDC poster to place in key locations around the city. Keep and eye out for the posters, and if you haven’t decided what to do on Valentine’s Day, be sure to grab tickets for you and your special someone to these special events!

Koosil-ja SPRINGNew York based performance artist Koosil-ja Hwang will present a new multimedia performance piece at The Dance Center of Columbia College. Using dance, electronic music, and live camera work, Blocks of Continuality/Body, Image, and Algorithm tells three simultaneous stories simulating the coexistence of the digital and flesh worlds. Koosil-ja Hwang will only be giving 3 performances at the Dance Center, so be sure to reserve your tickets right away. This is an exciting performance you won’t want to miss.

Billy Elliot The Musical @ Ford Center/Oriental Theatre

shows_billyelliotThe musical version of the hit movie makes it’s way to Chicago!  Adapted for the stage by director Stephen Daldry, choreographer Peter Darling, writer Lee Hall, and with music by Elton John, Billy Elliot is the winner of ten Tony Awards, and one of the hottest musicals getting rave reviews from both critics and fans alike.

In order to build awareness for tickets going on sale, we will have a team out flyering this Friday afternoon in the downtown area.  This is sure to be one of the biggest shows of the spring, so be sure to grab a flyer from us, and learn how you can get tickets to the musical called “the best show you will ever see” by the New York Post.
