Chicago Opera Theater is off to a fantastic start this year with three amazing performances in the works. For their spring 2010 season, C.O.T. is proud to present Moses in Egypt, Jason, and Three Decembers.

We are working together with Chicago Opera Theater distributing their mailers to Chicago opera fans. If you attended this past Sunday’s opening performance of The Marriage of Figaro at the Lyric Opera House, you no doubt saw our team in action as they passed out mailers to those making their way to the performance. We will have street team members present at every performance of Figaro in March, so be sure to grab a mailer and learn more about opera less ordinary today!

Sharon Isbin has been hailed as “the preeminent guitarist of our time” by Boston Magazine. Now, the Grammy Award-winning classical guitarist and violinist Mark O’Connor team up for their Chicago premiere at the Harris Theater!. Joined by several other musicians, the performance will highlight Isbin’s new album, Journey to the New World.

This Valentine’s Day weekend, River North Dance Company and Harris Theater have you covered with a variety of new shows! Robert Battle, returns to River North Chicago to follow 2008’s exhilarating Train with the world premiere of Ella, celebrating the scat vocals of Ella Fitzgerald. Following her recent success with American Ballet Theatre,  Lauri Stallings, returns to debut a world premiere entitled Suppose. The critically acclaimed piece, Forbidden Boundaries by Artistic Director Frank Chaves and crowd favorite, Evolution of a Dream by Sherry Zunker return to round out the Company’s 20th Anniversary season.

Through our printworks division, we’ve printed the memorable and eye catching RNDC poster to place in key locations around the city. Keep and eye out for the posters, and if you haven’t decided what to do on Valentine’s Day, be sure to grab tickets for you and your special someone to these special events!

Chicago Human Rhythm Project brought direction tour marketing on board for hand-to-hand distribution for their upcoming production of Step Afrika Jubalee! at the Harris Theater for Music and Dance. We’ve already completed one flyer distribution at DanceAfrica 2009 which was presented by the DuSable Museum at Harris Theater on October 30th

Our next flyer distribution will take place with the direction street team covering the Michigan Avenue Festival of Lights on Saturday, November 21st. We’ll be distributing handbills that include a 30% discount by using the TARGET Tix code TARGET30.

The amount of family programming that Chicago has to offer is simply stunning and as a new parent, I’m excited to take advantage of all the great offers. The Harris Theater for Music and Dance returns with the Harris Family Series that kicks off next weekend (Saturday, November 7th) with a performance by our good friends at River North Dance Company. RNDC will be hand jiving and hustling through the history of dance. Each decade from the Roaring 20’s to the Hip-Hoppin’ 90’s is brought to life in costumes, narrative and fast footwork.

DJ Beethoven and the New Millenium Orchestra will be featured for the January installment (Saturday, January 30th) as they tackle the question, What is a DJ? Are DJ’s today’s composers? Was Beethoven one of the first? Come on this exciting trip with Francesco Milioto and his New Millennium Orchestra as he spins you through an urban electronic and orchestral mix of music.

The River North Dance Company’s 20th anniversary season opens with a world premiere by artistic director, Frank Chaves, and, a new twist on the company’s classic signature piece, Reality of a Dreamer.  We are excited to be working with RNDC again, and have just begun an intense citywide distribution of flyers and posters.  There are three different posters for this latest campaign, all with very captivating images which you will soon see springing up around town.  This performance is one night only, so be sure to get your tickets right away!

Giordano Jazz Dance Chicago’s signature Fall program features three spectacular world premieres: Urban! Funk! Street! Philadelphia’s award-winning superstar choreographer Rennie Harris creates his first piece for a Chicago company. You probably saw us out at various dance events last week passing out flyers for these highly anticipated shows.  Be sure to check it out!

Chicago Human Rhythm Project’s 20th Anniversary Season performs their Chicago debut of Washington D.C.’s celebrated Step Afrika! featuring stepping, gumboot, African and contemporary percussive arts.  A few weeks ago, we did a massive one off distribution at the Stomp Out event at Chicago State University as part of the Chicago Football Classic. People at the event were very excited to hear about these upcoming performances, so don’t be surprised if all three nights end up selling out! 

Step Afrika! is at the Harris Theater November 19th, 20th & 21st.

Pam Ann, A-list Air hostess to the stars, touches down for her first US Tour. The alter ego of comedian Caroline Reid, Pam Ann has played sold out shows on major UK tours, at the Edinburgh Festival, and sold out shows in Canada and Europe. We are in the middle of a huge flyer and poster distribution before Pam Ann’s Chicago debut this Sunday.  Tickets are still available, so get yours before it’s too late!

Last week, we ran a promotion for the Harris Theater in order to help spread the word on the upcoming performance by Orquestra De Sao Paulo. The Harris Theater and Access Living are proud to present the Chicago premiere of the most outstanding orchestra in Latin America performing with world-renowned percussionist Dame Evelyn Glennie.  This one night only event happening on Monday  is not to be missed!
