February at the Chicago History Museum

Jan 12 2010

CHM-logo_blueFebruary will officially mark the end of Lincoln’s bicentennial celebration. But even though “Honest Abe” turns 201, the Chicago History Museum will still be hosting several exciting events in February. On President’s Day, celebrate the legacy of the nation’s presidents with the entire family through storytelling, dramatic performances, craft activities, and music by the Michael Teolis Singers. Several events revolving around candy including A Sweet Kinda Town and Classic Candy comes to CHM, as well as panel discussions about online dating and the mortgage crisis.

CHM has tasked us with manufacturing and distributing handbills which advertise the above mentioned events. We’ll be out and about in various neighborhoods and locations in Chicago. Be sure to pick one up, and find out more about what’s happening next month at the Chicago History Museum.

WhiteCitySim_Dec09_ships_608The virtual simulation tour of the 1893 World’s Fair is back by popular demand! Visitors will be able to “walk” through the virtual White City to see what it looked like over 100 years ago. Since this exciting two day event is this weekend, we printed posters and distributed them throughout the city to help remind everyone that the popular exhibit is returning. Dr. Lisa Snyder, associate director of outreach and operations for UCLA’s Experimental Technologies Center and the UCLA Urban Simulation team, will be presenting the recreation of the White City using real-time video simulation technology while Tim Samuelson, cultural historian for the City of Chicago, provides commentary.
