The Wailers “The Uprising Tour” at House of Blues

img_8713265_primaryLegendary reggae group The Wailers, along with Tomorrow’s Bad Seeds & Duane Stephenson are bringing “The Uprising Tour” to the House of Blues this January. They will be performing the last album they recorded with Bob Marley, “Uprising,” before his untimely passing. The group consists of original members and the album contains one of the most well-known Wailers songs, if not all of pop music, “Redemption Song.”

The direction staff has been hitting the hipster, hippie and other culturally interesting neighborhoods of Chicago with posters and fliers for this performance.

Gospel Brunch @ House of Blues

In addition to bringing some of the best blues, soul, rock, hip-hop and R and B acts to Chicago, the House of Blues also features a weekly gospel brunch. Besides the brunch food you would expect like eggs, bread, seafood, ham and more, the brunch also features an omelet station and fresh, made to order waffles. What seperates this food destination from the rest is the music. Each week features gospel acts performing on stage throughout the morning and early afternoon.

The direction team has been distributing posters for the House of Blues Gospel Brunch to our urban hipster route.

Trippin Billies @ House of Blues

tribbin billies photoThe most successful Dave Matthews Band tribute band, Trippin Billies, is beginning the new year with a 17+ show at the House of Blues. Come enjoy the music of one worlds most popular summer acts for a fraction of the cost in a friendly setting. Trippin Billies is a Chicago favorite and we’re happy to be promoting this show.

Direction printworks handled the making of the poster and we are currently distributing them to our bars and venues route.

House of Blues in December

HOBlogo_300_300x225The House of Blues is one of the most beautiful places to see a club show in the city of Chicago. This December features a great variety of acts both local and national.

Q101 is bringing their annual Twisted Christmas shows to the HOB. This years’ highlights include Five Finger Death Punch (12/12), Cake (12/14) and My Chemical Romance (12/15).

Ring in the new year with the uplifting sounds of Robert Randolph & The Family Band in the main room or, if you want more of an intimate concert experience near downtown, Ike Reilly Assassination will be on the Backporch Stage.

¡REVOLUCIÓN! Mexican Centennial @ House of Blues

20_revolucionThe Old Town School of Folk Music presents a Mexican Centennial celebration this Saturday night at the House of Blues. Sones de México Ensemble will headline the event with special guests Alejandro Flores of Café Tacvba, huapango poet Guillermo Velázquez & Los Leones de la Sierra de Xichú, Trio Ollín from the Ollín Yoliztli Cultural Center in Mexico City, actor/singer Laura Crotte (“The Sins of Sor Juana”), Sean Cleland & members of the Irish Music School of Chicago, Victor García & the Chicago Afro-Latin Jazz Ensemble Horn Section, Mariachi Real Guadalajara, Trio Los Primos, members of the Mexican Folkloric Dance Company of Chicago, Mexican Dance Ensemble, and Ballet Folklórico Nacional de Victor Soria, and more. One and all are invited to this cornucopia of performance.

The direction staff has been getting the word out for this one-time performance and celebration, focusing on the Mexican population of Chicago.

Steel Pulse & Ozomatli @ House of Blues Chicago

ozomatli_logoBoth on separate tours, Ozomatli and Steel Pulse will be making their way to the House of Blues in Chicago in May. Currently promoting their new album Fire Away (which comes out on April 20th), Ozomatli are tearing up the road and venue circuit with their unique blend of Latin, Jazz, Hip Hop, and funk.  Steel Pulse, who are touring with Toots and the Mytals, are rocking venues across the country with their stone cold reggae grooves.

We’re working with our buddies at  House of Blues, promoting both of these exciting acts. We’ll be turning up at concerts in Chicago distributing double sided handbills which advertise both shows. Be sure to grab one, and say hi!

Chrisette Michele @ House of Blues Chicago

imagesR&B prodigy, Grammy award winner, and Def Jam artist Chrisette Michele makes her way to Chicago as part of her latest tour in support of the new album, Epiphany.

Two weekends ago, our street team went to the Mariah Carey concerts at the Chicago Theater where we passed out handbills to all of the Mariah fans in attendance. We’ll also be in the street distributing these same handbills along with posters (which we printed) throughout the city of Chicago.
