Chicago @ Ford Center/Oriental Theatre

Broadway in Chicago is bringing back the musical named after this town. “Chicago” will be in town for one week only at the Ford Center/Oriental Theatre. The story of a couple of women finding fame through murder, the fifth-longest running production in Broadway history, the recipient of six Tony Awards, two Olivier Awards and a Grammy is an exciting romp. Starring John O’Hurley as Billy Flynn, purchase your tickets right away because these shows will sell out.

The direction team has been distributing Broadway in Chicago posters throughout the north side of Chicago and the north shore suburbs.

Spring Awakening @ Ford Center/Oriental Theatre

The winner of eight Tony Awards including Best Musical, the Broadway sensation “Spring Awakening” is headed back to Chicago. The story of two males going from adolescence to adulthood, the production is about rebellion, morality and sexuality. Set in 1890′s Germany, the production is based on a controversial play involving homosexuality, S and M, loss of virginity and suicide. It’s not a shock the musical helped make “Glee’s” Lea Michele a star.

Direction has been hitting the streets of Chicago with posters and handbills for this Broadway in Chicago presentation.

HAIR @ Ford Center/Oriental Theatre

The winner of the 2009 Tony for Best Musical Revival, “HAIR” is currently at the Ford Center/Oriental Theatre for a much too short, two week run. The Public Theatre, who won the Tony two years ago, is currently touring the show with its award winning cast. The rock musical still features the songs that have become classics, such as “Aquarius,” “Let the Sun Shine In,” “Good Morning, Starshine” and “Easy To Be Hard.”

The direction team has gotten the word out for “HAIR” throughout the more musical friendly neighborhoods of Chicago.

Rain @ Oriental Theatre

Direct from Broadway, Rain: A Tribute to the Beatles will be at the Oriental Theatre for one week this February. The Washing Times has said, “The individual members of Rain are perfecting the posture, physical characteristics, facial and voice inflections of their namesake. The signature harmonies are truly spot on. The costuming is meticulous.” The Dallas Morning News has said “This is homage at its highest level, both in terms of adoration and execution.” If you’re a casual fan of the Fab Four or a full-out Beatlemaniac, this show is for you.

Billy Elliot @ Oriental Theatre

BILLY-ELLIOTEveryone’s favorite boy fighter turned ballerina in war-town Ireland is closing up show at the Oriental Theatre. “Billy Elliot” ends its successful Broadway in Chicago run just after Thanksgiving on November 28. The 2009 Tony Award winner for Best Musical (which for those of you who don’t follow theater means it’s the best show on the biggest stage in the world) is perfect for the entire family. There may be no better way to celebrate the holiday season.

The direction staff has been hanging posters throughout the city and we’ve had small teams distributing materials hand-to-hand in the loop.

Billy Elliot The Musical @ Ford Center/Oriental Theatre

shows_billyelliotThe musical version of the hit movie makes it’s way to Chicago!  Adapted for the stage by director Stephen Daldry, choreographer Peter Darling, writer Lee Hall, and with music by Elton John, Billy Elliot is the winner of ten Tony Awards, and one of the hottest musicals getting rave reviews from both critics and fans alike.

In order to build awareness for tickets going on sale, we will have a team out flyering this Friday afternoon in the downtown area.  This is sure to be one of the biggest shows of the spring, so be sure to grab a flyer from us, and learn how you can get tickets to the musical called “the best show you will ever see” by the New York Post.

Chicago @ The Oriental Theatre

shows_chicago08 Chicago continues to be one of the most popular shows on Broadway.  The limited run took place here in the city of Chicago, and featured John O’Hurley (from Seinfeld and Dancing with the Stars fame)as Billy Flynn.  For the two weeks it was in town, we performed poster distribution in order to make everyone aware of the show. Winner of six Tony Awards, two Olivier Awards, and a Grammy, Chicago continues to be a big draw to audiences here, and around he world. Be sure to catch it next time it blows through town.

A Bronx Tale @ the Oriental Theatre

shows_bronxtaleAcademy Award nominated actor Chazz Palminteri returns to the stage in this one man performance.  Based on Palminteri’s childhood, and the movie of the same name, A Bronx Tale is about growing up in the tough neighborhood known as the Bronx in the 1960′s.  Critically praised and called one of the best onstage performances of the year, Palminteri brings his show to Chicago for a limited run.  Be sure to catch one of the year’s most talked about performances while it’s here.
