Chicago has been a leader of independently produced theater for quite some time. The Department of Cultural Affairs has helped build that reputation with Block 37. For the last few years, they’ve also been utilizing unique settings to create memorable performances. The In the Works series takes place on the Pritzker Pavilion stage from November through April. Yes, it is quite chilly outside but the entire production and audience in on stage, in a climate controlled setting. This theater lab series allows local companies to showcase productions that aren’t quite done in a place that’s not quite common.
The direction team has been distributing promotional materials for this theater series on our theater route.
The In the Works series continues on January 12 with a production from TUTA Theatre Chicago. For more information about this Chicago Deptartment of Cultural Affairs series, please visit explorechicago.org.
