A Midsummer Night’s Dream @ Chicago Shakespeare Theater

Shakespeare is getting another interpretation. Thanks to cast members from Second City, Broadway and “Saturday Night Live,” the new “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” premiering next month on Navy Pier will once again breath life into the 400 year old comedy.

The direction staff has been distributing posters and handbills for this Chicago Shakespeare show throughout the more theater friendly neighborhoods of Chicago’s north side and north shore.

“A Midsummer Night’s Dream” will be at the Chicago Shakespeare Courtyard Theater from February 7 to April 8. Tickets are currently available. For more information about this play and other productions at the Chicago Shakespeare, please visit chicagoshakes.com.

Up Comedy Club

The Second City has been producing the entertainment world’s finest sketch and improv performers for more than fifty years. This December, a new chapter for the legendary theater opens. The Up Comedy Club will focus on stand up performances in the evening and family friendly shows for the matinee hour. Pipers Alley is slowly turning into the Midwest comedy mecca, a one stop shop for all things funny.

The direction staff passed out bright, red balloons along State Street promoting Up to the Thanksgiving day parade attendees.

2011 Chicago Improv Festival

Chicago is known as the improv capital of the world. Most casts of “SNL” have a handful of talented performers who honed their chops at places like Second City, iO, Playground, Chemically Imbalanced and more. The 14th Annul Chicago Improv Festival is your chance to see the best improvisers from around the world come and perform in venues like Second City, iO, Playground, Chemically Imbalanced and more. In only six days more than ten venues will host 95 shows, featuring performers from eight nations and thirty two cities. Think of this as comedy training camp and you get to play the role of scout.

The direction team has been distributing posters and handbills for this annual festival throughout the north side of the city, Oak Park and Evanston.

The institution has become synonymous with all things entertainment offering courses on writing, acting, improv, and music. Ever wanted learn the art of comedy?  Be sure to check out the adult training classes available at The Second City.  The famous facility offers classes on acting, improv, writing, and even music.  We finished our flyer distribution not too long ago where we blanketed the city with handbills advertising their courses.
