Chicago’s own Corky Siegal brings his Chamber Blues Band to the Wilmette Theatre’s stage this September. Mixing classical music with the blues, the Chamber Blues Band has created it’s own unique genre of music. “A genuine hybrid … complex … clever and ambitious” says Bill Kohlhaase of the LA Times. The Actors Training Center at the Wilmette Theatre offers top notch training for actors ranging in age from 3rd graders to adults, and is considered one of the best training centers in the Chicagoland area. We began a distribution campaign this week in support of the ATC’s programs. Keep an eye out for the postcards which we placed in locations all throughout the north shore area. If you present one to the ATC, you will receive $25 off any one class.

The Wilmette Theatre’s tag line is “More Than Just Movies”, and that is 100% accurate.  Bringing the latest movies through their doors is just a fraction of what they do. Offering live theatre performances which range from family oriented shows all the way to burlesque, the Wilmette Theatre now welcomes live comedy to its stage.  Every month, Comedy at the Mette presents a new comedy performance.  Upcoming acts for August and September include Jablonski! and Penny Bear. Comedy at the Mette only happens once a month, so be sure to mark your calenders!

Comedy at the Mette takes place the second Saturday of each month at the Wilmette Theatre.

“Conjunction Junction”, “I’m Just A Bill”, and all the favorites will be performed at the Wilmette Theatre as they present School House Rock Live.  We are currently in the midst of a poster distribution campaign to help build awareness for the shows.  Originally airing on ABC in the early 1970′s, School House Rock has gained cult notoriety and is still popular among kids today.  Don’t miss the limited run; only 3 performances will occur this month.

School House Rock Live is at the Wilmette Theatre every Saturday this month beginning April 11th.

One of our newer clients, The Wilmette Theatre, is a unique institution in the Chicagoland area.  Offering films, live stage productions, and musical performances, WT has established itself as an important part of the theater community.  The month off March looks to be a busy one for the “Mette”,  which includes the students from the Actors Training Center’s production of You’re  A Good Man Charlie Brown, Chicago Kids Company’s Goldilocks and the Three Bears, and of course nightly movie showings including Slumdog Millionaire.

When we were contacted by The Wimette Theatre, we have to say that we were impressed.  Not only has the theater been active in Wimette for almost 100 years, but they take the definition of “theater” to the max.  The WT presents movies, live theater and musical performances (Leon Redbone plays there in March) , and it is the home to the Actors Training Center.  For our first outing together, we will be distributing posters in Wilmette, Skokie, and the surrounding areas for Cupid Has A Heart On, a musical comedy by the Cupid Players.  We hope that this will be the start of a long lasting relationship with Wimette Theatre, and we look forward to working with them in the future.
