If you haven’t kept your New Year’s Resolution, here’s a little inspiration. The athletes that make up the WCR are the kind of folks that prove excuses are never accepted. If they’re risking life and limb on the flat track at the UIC, there’s no reason you can’t run on the treadmill a few hours a week. This first bout of the 2012 is a mini tournament, featuring all four teams facing off. The night doubles as a fundraiser. Each team picked a charity to donate their proceeds. Avon Walk for Breast Cancer, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Boys & Girls Clubs of America and Alzheimer’s Association will all benefit from the WCR.

The air is crisp! The hits are brutal! The ladies are lethal! I’ll stop. Anyway, the Windy City Rollers travel seasons returns to the UIC Pavillion this month for their October match. The WCR Second Wind will take on the Bleeding Heartland and the WCR All-Stars face the Tampa Derby Darlins. Did I mention that’s it’s their Monster Bash? And there are costume contests and prizes? And it’s super fun for the whole family?

It’s Back to School Night with the Windy City Rollers this weekend! These athletes are welcoming fans of all ages to catch the all stars take on the Ohio Rollergirls and the San Diego Derby Dolls. The WCR are on a current winning streak, with recent wins in Phildelphia and Boston, and this hometown match will not disappoint!

Now that the WCR regular season has ended with a second consecutive championship for The Fury, it’s time for the All-Stars to take the track. With recent victories in Philadelphia and Boston, the Windy City Rollers best of the best will be welcoming the Gotham Girls Roller Derby’s Wall St. Traitors and the Steel City Derby Demons. The WCR All-Stars are currently at the top of the WFTDA North Central Standings and let’s keep them there. Come out and show some support this weekend.

The Fury are trying to keep up their winning streak and Hell’s Belles is picking up momentum. The two teams face off against each other this Saturday. The Double Crossers and Manic Attackers are coming off loses and have something to prove. The next Windy City Rollers bout will throw a wrench into the standings and, if all goes as planned, deliver some of the best, hard-hitting flat track roller derby in the U.S.

Everyone’s favorite sport (yes, it is a sport and if you’ve ever been to a bout you would agree) is coming back to the UIC Pavilion in a few weeks. Chicago’s four teams will compete in an already exciting season. There’s no better way to spend the Easter weekend than at a Windy City Rollers bout. Regardless of age, race or religion, nothing stirs the spirit like watching hardcore athletes skate around a flat track.

The Windy City Rollers return for the third bout of the season next week at the UIC Pavilion. Manic Attackers take on the Double Crossers and Hell’s Belles go against The Fury. Last month Hell’s Belles broke a long losing streak and The Fury destroyed the Manic Attackers. This months matches will have the winners taking on each other and the teams that didn’t come out ahead now have something to prove.

Chicago’s favorite flat-track roller derby girls return to the UIC Pavillion this February 13. If you’re not sure what to buy your wife/husband, boyfriend/girlfriend, potential date, person you’re considering dating this Valentine’s Day, this might be the perfect ticket. Think about it. The sport is fast paced. It”s hard hitting but not crazy, dangerous violent. It’s inspiring. Trust me on this one. Every female I’ve gone to bouts with wants to join the Windy City Rollers. Why? Because it’s super awesome.

The Windy City Rollers begin their 2011 season with a return to the UIC Pavilion. Bout 1 of the season consists of two games, Hell’s Belles vs Manic Attackers and The Fury vs Double Crossers. Though it may not seem like it, the Windy City Rollers is fun for the entire family. I’m serious. Roller derby is an awesome sport and the bouts at the UIC Pavilion are age appropriate. It’s the only sport that both a five year old and fifteen year old would enjoy equally.

They’re back!  The ladies of the Windy City Rollers return to the UIC Pavilion this Saturday for their monthly bout! This time around, we’ll see The Fury take on the Hell’s Belles in the first match. Then, to finish of the evening, the Manic Attackers go head to head with the Double Crossers.
